How to be convincing?

Ok this is only slightly off subject but I was wondering how people went about convincing thier bf, gf's or other housemates that might not be as into chams as they are that its a good idea to get more. I only have one pygmy(hopefully soon 2) but they both will live in a fairly small enclosure. I really want some carpet chameleons but then I'd probably have to get 2 more enclosures. Though they wouldnt be huge cages I forsee the "where are we gonna put all that' argument and probably some others as well. I'm sure some of you had to back up a cham obsession to a not so happy housemate- any suggestions would help ;)

Sometimes it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission...

"Honey, I swear I don't know how this got here, but we can't just put them out on the street now..."

Hah.. I always buy things i dont need..and Hubby says "Where we gonna put that" and I smile and shrug and say "On your side of the bed"..Haha.:)

I would just let them know that it means a lot to you and Life is too short to settle for mediocre. You want the best and chams are the only thing that can fulfill that desire in you. And tears help too..

I see a carpet in your sig so im guessing something worked..?

Huh..I didnt even notice that...And where did the pygmy go?

I lucky. My partner encourages me to get more as he knows how much I enjoy the hobby. It also makes him feel less guilty about the time and money he spends on his own hobby!

1. Chameleon cages are more vertical. So doesn't really take that much surface space.

2. At least the animal is in a cage.

3. I'll do more chores in the house.

4. Work a deal??

"Honey, i told you that I always wanted 2 chameleons as pets. It's not my fault that I won a contest and got another one for free." :D

And, I'm not lying either. :)

I dont have to convince my lady. She loves them. Especially if i say im buying it for her. She will pick it out and say how cute it is. so no problem there. But i live at home because im getting threw college and my mom says no more pets. so i really have to follow that one. I guess i can make a pygmy cage and just put some in there, and she will never no. Its just a plant thing mom.

You could say that it climbed on the back of you shirt and you didnt no untill you got home. thye are sneaky you know.

I get to have as many lizards as I want, my husband gets to have as many newts and salamanders as he wants. (And I like the newts, and he likes the lizards, so it all works out.)
