So in my free range that my girl is on its hard to feed her. she is only 4 and a half months so we are still working on the trust thing. she eats out of my hand sometimes when she is feeling it but i can't rely on her eating sometimes lol. I have one of nick brats feeder cups in this setup as well but she hasn't quit gotten the concept that thats where her food is. i also have a problem with my dubias and worms wanting to stay in the bottom so its not enticing to her. also crickets are her favorite and she destroys them but i can pout crickets in the feeder cup as they escape.

Oh also since the dubias are hiding at the bottom im having a hard time keeping her dusting cause she dosent eat them

as for feeder cup..i suggest make a DIY version (cricks)... using empty plastic milk botle and cut it out...

I use nick Barta's feeder cups . It's just one or two crickets escape on occasion so I don't want them running around lol

*frowns* They usually do that if it's bright from what I've noticed. They are much more active if it's a bit shadier where they are?

Hmmm I'll have to check where this cup is . I have not tried them in the free range cup just on the one that was in her cage and there were many lights by it

Good luck hun <3
lol this little brat... she destroys 2 hornworms off my hand then i go to silkworms and dubia and she just turns and shows me her ass lol. I guess the hornworms did there job though cause she took her last thing of meds off one.

XD lmao, try pairing hornworms with dubias next time? I know you usually try to do her favorites for hand taming (at least I always do) but if you are trying to introduce something new then pair with dubias. If that doesn't work, then I have another plan in the works but it's a bit more mean XD

what do you mean by pairing them? and is the other way not feeding her anything until she eats the dubias lol

yes the other way is definitely that, and since she is a growing female I would definitely assume she would eat faster than you'd expect XD. Umm pairing would like be putting them in the feeder cup with like a hornworm sitting on top of a dubia so she grabs them at the same time. Sometimes it really only takes eating the new prey item once... it really is like feeding toddlers sometimes XD

lol i did that too her one time just because of the fact i ran out of crickets and she had to deal with it i believe she has eaten 2 dubias before but it was a while ago. I will keep working at it with her and hopefully she will see that the feeder cup has stuff in the bottom of it as none of the worms or roaches like to climb up :(

Have you tried positioning her near it after you place food in it? Specifically place food in it with your fingers and then place her near it. My jackson girl learned after that what that meant.

hmm i have not tried that. she has about 10 bugs in there right now hopping that one will crawl up and attract her attention.
