How To Go About Cleaning Cage?

Hello! So I'm nearing the one month of having my little guy, and I wanted to do a thorough clean of his tank. The problem is, we're not really on handling terms yet. He still flinches when I open his tank to put in veggies or clean, so I'm wondering how I can get him out of the tank without him hating me forever haha.

Try getting him to crawl on a stick and then have a tall potted plant ready for him to climb onto. Or try putting the plant itself in front of the cage. Open the door and he might climb out on it.
