How to tell age?

Is there an easy way of telling how old a veiled chameleon is? Or an easy rule of thumb to guess? My cham is a male and he's about the size of my index finger from the tip of his head to the base of his tail (not including his tail). If it's possible to tell just by looking at him, let me know!

People can only take guesses since they grow at different rates for different reasons.

A generalized theory on growth/length indicators??

Hi everybody,
Maybe I'm totally wrong but this is my own theory:
1 inch (total length) equal to 1 month old.

2 inch(total length) equal to 2 month old.

3 inch(total length) equal to 3 month old.

After over 3 months of age, breeders usually refer to only measurement in snout-vent length(exclude tail length) and individuals will start growing at different rates due to food and environment.

Does that sound right, breeders out there??

Yah there really is no way to tell how old a cham is just by size alone you can only guess.

Your chameleon hatched on June 23rd at 8:34PM. His mom is "Betty" and his dad is "Bruno."

Here are a couple of pics. They're not very good since I had to take them with my camera phone, but it's better than nothing. I put a pop can in the last one so there's a little bit of size reference. I got a rough measurement of my chameleon to be 5.75 inches (including tail) if that helps.

Ummm i could be wrong this is just a guess but i dunno from the picture he looks like he could be like 10 months and up.my veiled isnt much bigger than that lenght wise but he's really fat haha. but then again im not sure how old he is either.

My guess would actually be in the 4-5 month range. Your veiled looks a lot like mine did at that age. It is hard to tell from those photos but that would be my guess.

Like others were saying, they all grow at a different rate and it depends on the amount being fed.

I'm guessing by the size in the pics that he is about 3-4 maybe 5mo old. Thed pics make it hard to tell but that is my guess.

I would guess yours to be about 10-12mo old. That was about the size my male was at that age. It's hard to tell so gusstimation age is the best to go by.
