Humidity concern

So my humidity in my Cham room is through the roof, sitting at about 60-80% depending on if I mist or not. It takes all day for the water to evaporate. I'm worried about the room getting damaged. Any experience with this?

Is it too warm in there? If so you could put a window fan in. Otherwise use a dehumidifier. I know back when I was heavy into aquariums, my fishroom was quite humid and while I didn't have damage, I did get a bit of mildew.

Depending on what you want to spend you could redo the walls and put green board up. There is also buy special paint that is made for humid and damp rooms. You could also put an exhaust fan in.

What species of chameleons are you keeping? I would think that you could cut back on your mistings if you have that much humidity. Enough humidity to have concerns about mold and mildew damage to your room. I say give a go at not misting as much as you are now.

It's my panther room. That's what I was thinking maybe a nice 5-10 min misting in the AM to wet everything, allow for drinking, and eye cleaning. Then maybe a 1-2 min misting later in the day. I used to do 12-15 m in in the AM followed by three more 2-4 minute mistings. With two 20-40 minute mistings during the week.

Furcifer pardalis do not need that much water. Scaling back on the misting times is probably the most appropriate thing to be done.

Yep, they need a ton of water. I was joking that his misting schedule for his Panthers would actually be adequate for a Parsons. I guess the joke fell flat.

I misted my Panthers that much because it was hard to keep humidity up and my Panthers would seem slightly dehydrated at times.

Yes, they had to switch meds again. This infection seems unstoppable and it's starting to concern me a little...
