I just got my first cham a few days ago and Im having trouble with the humidity in his cage. I can only seem to get it to 30% and Im worried this will make him sick / dehydrated. he is misted w/ a raindome every 2 hrs (cage dry between mistings) and i have a humidifier near by. he is eating and drinking and seems fairly active but Im just worried. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

sorry, 16"x16"x30" DIY aluminum screen cage, aquazamp raindome, reptisun 5.0 18", a few poplar branches, a few corkscrew willow branches, some fake folliage and a dracaena plant with a bunch of large smooth rocks over the dirt. his temp is usually between 80-85 during the day. He has pooped a couple of times that I have noticed, once was brown another white. I was just watching him eat a few minutes ago and he missed a few times which I havent seen him do yet. Am I just being super paranoid?

try this

try covering 3 sides of the cage followed by a good generous 2 min misting and see if this changes the humidity i was having the same problem as u the other day and from reading members posts they suggest to use cheap clear shower sheets worked very very well for me. let me know if that helps you and ill see what else i can try to help u with, also do u have a digital temperature gun so u can get better read's on basking spot and cage temp in different spots?

Like others said, you can cover the cage with plastic. I usually leave a couple inches open on the bottom and top part of where i wrap for better ventilation.

Also, where are you measuring these reading? If its in the basking spot, try moving the gauge to the middle of the cage. Humidity is much lower in the basking spot. My humidity is only 30-60 in the basking, but if i move it out of direct sunlight (my gauge reads temps and humdity) then the humidity sky rockets up to 90
