Humidity

I have a video on YouTube look for the name John Willis it's of my chameleons enclosure could someone check it out cause I'm having trouble keeping the humidity between 50%-80% any suggestions

How big is your enclosure? And what type of Chameleon do you have? I would recommend getting a live plant if you already don't have one, they do wonders for humidity and keep it up very well. You could also cover up a couple sides of your cage with towels, and if you don't mist enough and have the budget you could buy a misting system such as a MistKing or an Aquazamp.

You should check out my YouTube video I have all that and I use a misting bottle 3x a day it help the humidity when I spray or my misting system goes off but not much and not for long it should be between 50-80%

Between bruce willis and assorted johns and john willis' I can see no cham cage video. It would be best if you just uplinked a photo of the setup or a link to the video itself.

I'm new to this if you type in veiled chameleon setup then scroll down til you see John Willis the video is like a 1:36

Well given that information, hand misting three times a day still won't be enough. Especially if you are living in a dry and cold area of the united states like I am. It evaporates quickly because of the humidity in the air. And if you are new to chameleon keeping I'm assuming, which obviously I could be wrong, if you aren't misting for about 2 or 3 minutes at a time until your hand cramps it won't get the job done regardless of how many times you are misting.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZ9IcV0IOSA is the video you made. Based on your info and the movie I see you have a mister. As was stated you really have to use that spray bottle. I live in a cold area as well i find a hot mist humidifier in the room does wonders for me and the chams. It won't drastically boost the humidity in the cham enclosure but it will make the ambient room humidity rise a touch.

Monsoon 400 and its set for every 2hrs for 30 seconds

How long does it go off for at a time? That could be a big difference, and also as midcoast said, putting warmer water in it could help a lot and give a more enjoyable experience for your chameleon as well.

Yeah I live in Wisconsin and the temps really make it hard if you have a drafty house.

I've heard of wrapping about a 12in wide plastic around 3 sides of the enclosure to help with the humidity what do you think

You could do that as well, i mean even garbage bags would help in my opinion. Just cut them into long strips about the width of the cage. Put like two on there and that should help increase the humidity. Also if you can do it without the fire hazard cut a hole in the bag where your lights would be and possibly put it on top. Be careful though please! lol we don't need a post of you burning down your house that would make me feel awful.. but anyway! as we all know evaporation causes the water to go up into the air so that may cause some condensation at the top and also increase the humidity

Ok is there anything I could go out and get I thought a humidifier would work pretty much the same as the dogger systems to help out some

And yes a humidifier will help to raise ambient relative humidity. Do a quick search as there have been several threads today on humidifiers in a room. You'll find good info.
