Some images from the storm surge in Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida…

Hurricane Idalia had 7.5 foot surge, but Helene had at least 10. Most businesses and residents just got things back to “normal” but will be ripping out drywall and disposing new but ruined possessions. Sheriff’s department did over 100 water rescues overnight. Praying for those in Taylor County that took a 140 mph Cat 4.

I hope everyone is staying safe too.
So glad I live in Ontario, Canada where we don’t have many horrible hurricanes. The worst one i lived through here, was Hurricane Hazel....and I was very young, but I still remember how bad it was. Lots of flooding, rain and high winds.

One reason I wouldn’t move back to the gulf side…Last year was rough too.

I still wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. I love the Gulf side of the state. No matter where you live there are risks. Remember in 2004 when every storm on the planet went to Orlando 🫣?
