I don't have a drip system for my setup. Instead I Place 2 ice cubes in the morning (6:00 am) on top the screen and mist the entire cage. I go to work and when I get home (4:00 pm) I place 2 more ice cubes on top/mist entire cage. I then mist once or twice more and place one ice cube right at lights out at 8:30ish. I have had him for 6 weeks now and he is about a year old/8 inches long or so. Is this ok. I feed usually 4 crix before work and depending if there is any left when I get home, i feed 3-4 more. T

I am slightly concerned about the temperature of the water. I wonder if chams get brain freeze like humans. I think you would be better served using a plastic cup with a pin hole in it, which works just as well as most drip containers sold at major retailers.

I always use warmer water b/c I assume in nature they never come along ice cubes or cold water.

How long do you mist for? Chameleons need as much as 30 minutes a day of misting. What color is the urate...it should be white and not yellow or orange.
What is the humidity in the cage...the requirement is different for different types of chameleons. Personally i dont use drippers. I only use misting and they get 4 15 minute misting sessions a day starting at 10 and going about ever 2.5 hours.

What kind of panther? What kind of cage?

At a year old, he/she seems really small. If I am wrong, I am sure someone will correct me.

Please add some pics if possible. I feed my cham (5 month ambilobe panther) several meal worms a week (1-2 a day) and up to 10 crix a day. The crix I can get are a little smaller than he should be eating but I can only get small or large, no medium local.

Hey I have heard that the ice cube method isn't good. As an alternative I have seen people put wet paper towels/regular towels on the top of the cage that will drip through until they are dry.

I would not do the ice cube thing either for reasons mentioned. In addition to dripping in some other manner I would mist the plants in the cage every day by hand with a spray bottle.

Would be much safer to get like a big Styrofoam cup, poke a little hole in the bottom and fill it with warm water. Ive also heard bad things about using ice cubes, the water is too cold.
