hey everyone was just seeing if anyone knew the proper way to dilute these 2 for cleaning out a cage. I think i am going to get another panther soon(they're like pokemon...) and i want to completely sanitize my current cham's old cage for the new one to use. I'll eventually be moving my new guy to a free range as well.

-I have this chlorhexidine 2%:

-and 12% hydrogen peroxide:

I apolgize if this is a dumb question, may just be overthinking it. I've never used these and didn't want to mess it up. Thanks

Unless the chlorhexidine has dilution instructions on it use it full strength for cleaning surfaces. It must be diluted to use for wound cleaning. I would have to look it up. Don't have my books here.

Clean the cage with plain soap and water first to remove any dirt. Disinfectants don't work as well if there is a lot of organic material present. Leave the chlorhexidine on for 10 minutes or as recommended on the bottle. Contact time is important for disinfection. Rinse thoroughly.

I'd have to look it up to be sure. It should say on the bottle. It would be safe and effective to use undiluted but it might be a waste. Sorry don't have my surgical nursing book at work with me.

Ook no worries sounds good i'll givent a try. It has directions, but being for horses and dogs. Didn't know if it mattered or if it was dangerous at all.

I found this chlorhexidine can be used for disinfection in a .15% or .5% solution. You would need 30ml or 90ml to a gallon. That is approximately one once or three ounces.
