So earlyer today I was feeding my 3 year old vieled chameleon, Neon. I guess he thought my hand was a cricket and shot at it. Not knowing what happens I jolted a little, and something happens to his tongue. At first a little bit of it was hanging out, but he sucked it back in. Than when he went to eat the other crickets his tongue only shot out about 2 inches. It doesn't seem to be badly injured. I think he might of pulled a tongue muscle. Just wanted to get some other people's opinion. From what I have seen from other pet owners, it may take a few days to heal. I'm going to watch it closely for a week, if it doesn't get better I'm going to the vet.

@Frigman Sounds like he hurt it--it happens. Try to hand feed him and avoid him using his tongue for awhile. Let it heal.
Yeah, I just fed him out of a cup a few minutes ago and it seems to be better. He is more accurate now, and can shoot 4-5 inches. I'm going to do this for a while until it gets better . Thanks for the reply
