I got my new t5ho light today.

So I got my new bulb in today and when I put it in and hung it 6 inches above my cage he was going back and forth between the middle and lower part of the cage. Do you think he has to adjust to that light first? I had a t8 before so that’s why I was asking if he had to adjust. Thank you!

What type of chameleon? What bulb strength did you get? how far is basking below the top of the cage. Looking for the total distance from the fixture to the basking level.

Panther chameleon and and it has the reptisun t5 In it but I also had some Arcadia 6% come in today. And from the light to my top basking branch is 9-10 inches

If your using a single bulb T5 fixture with the 6% bulb then 9-10 inches is perfect for distance. It will be a brighter light then he is used to.

Yes it is much brighter. You think I should take the bulb out it came with and put that Arcadia bulb in?

I prefer the Arcadia bulbs. And they only need to be replaced every 12 months so mark it on your calendar to order one the month prior. He will adjust though. It’s probably more that he can now sense the uvb.

That would make since and I have 2 of them so when I put this one in I will order another just in case one breaks for any reason. Thank you very much!!
