I went to PetSmart yesterday to see what feeders they carry.

The girl told me to CUT THE HEADS OFF the superworms before I feed it to my Cham as it can chew through my cham. lol I read that this is a MYTH, but have seen a few posts about chams being bitten and getting infections.

Also, what is the deal with crickets biting/nibbling on your cham at night??? I want to give my cham the ability to hunt them down, but that sceeved me out and now Im thinking about cup feeding. I read that you can put food on the bottom of the cage for the crickets that get away and they wont bother your cham.

Please tell me your practices/experience are with this.

Thanks....

I have seen no evidence that there is any credibility to the superworm risk. They are aggressive but their bite isn't very powerful.

It is true that crickets will bite your cham overnight if you leave them in the cage, especially if they haven't eaten for a couple days. I always remove the remaining crickets before lights out.

I love all these threads on killer worms, when most know if you leave a large cricket with a small cham over night, you might have some cham missing :p

Oh how superworms get a bad rap. When its really those evil crickets! haha. I am pretty sure its the menacing crickets that caused my frog so much harm. My poor frog had three bad wounds that ended up infected. Took 3 weeks of treatment to get him well. I havent heard of a superworm eating a cham or frog, but crickets sure do.

Thanks. I will hunt them down before lights out lol.

I never cup feed my cham and always allow them to hunt down the crickets at their own leisure. I just make sure their is food for the cricket at the bottom of the enclosure (cricket crack, fresh veggies) at ALL times. Never had a problem with it.

This Superworm thing/myth kills me :D Next time anyone feeds their cham supers place them on the screen and watch your cham eat. They ALWAYS target the head and they are killed right away.
Chams have no problems eating Supers :)

Right you are :)
And even if the cham did snag the worm backwards, it's still GONNA DIE REAL SOON! :p

Leave it to PetStupid to perpetuate a silly myth
