I Receiving my First panther Tomorrow

I've been doing a lot of research over the past few weeks and this forum has been the most helpful. This will be my first cham, I'm receiving a 4 month old Sambava panther male from Screameleons. I decided I was going to dust my crickets only with Repashy Calcium Plus instead of using the the 3 other supplements to make it easier. Should I dust the crickets everyday with the Repashy or maybe 6 days out of the week for his age? Also is Repashy just as good as using the 3 other supplements or is it still pretty new on the market and the long term benefits are still unknown?

I would recomend still using a plain calcium as well and using the other stuff once a week or so. I personally wouldnt feel comfortable only using the calcium plus. It has to much D3 in it for my liking.

I do have the rep-cal with vit.d and also the herptivite. I just need to pick up some calcium with out the d3 in it. Since it seems that using the 3 supplements from what I read on here has been working good for the most part maybe I should just stick to the old method to be safe then.

I also forgot to mention that he's going to be kept indoors at all times under a 5.0 uvb bulb and does that make any difference in the supplements with the d3 in it? on my instructions sent from screameleons it says to give chams kept indoors rep-cal with d3 every other day for juveniles and twice a week for adults. But I know I've read on here that to much d3 is bad. So it does get a little confusing with the different info from other sources.

It depends on the brand. For example, repcal has 440,000 IU of D3, minerall has 4,000 IU of D3, and repashy calcium (the low kind) has something like 20,000 IU of D3. Using repcal every other day would be WAY more than if you use minerall. It just depends. You would also want to use less with a chameleon that gets regular natural sunlight. People frequently recommend using repcal 2 times a month:

So basically the schedule would be to use plain calcium 6 days a week and then on the 7th day calcium with d3 then skip a week and then use herptivite or Repashy the following week on the 7th day and keep rotating back and forth?

I received him today and I thought I would post a picture of him. So far I've seen him eat 3 crickets and he had a little water from a droplet. He's been crawling on top of the cage quite a bit today.

Who are you.jpg WHO ARE U?

Holy shit that is one awesome looking cham! All those colors so early on.

I'm new too, very new, but it seems to me your asking a lot of great questions and I'll be following this thread to see what the answers are from the vets.

You don't have to use separate brands. You could use the repcal products or you can just use the repashy and a plain calcium.

I use the Repashy Calcium no D3 and the Repashy Calcium Plus and I mix up when and how often I use either. But I love the Repashy products, so they're all I've really ever used. But I do provide the plain calcium a lot, especially for the females.

pretty new also

I have had my veiled chameleons for 2 months soon to be and just about every day I read on here every day even stopped doing my crafts until I feel things are going smoothly with then and the calcium I got form ebay...champs are really growing fast and darker colors and where he sits I think he sits there asking for more CRICKETS always cause there are no more in the cage..does this happen to anybody else?... Also thank you all for all the info ....I believe my champs are happy!!!!!!

Thanks sounds like a good plan. Yeah the Repashy products sound good from what I've been reading. The crickets go crazy for the bug burger I bought them in the powder gel form.
