I believe my 14 month old veiled is trying to sleep during the day. Which is strange, he's never done this before and I know i'm doing everything correct :S

I'm not an expert but isn't that a sign of illness? Maybe take him to the vets to get checked over just in case? I'm sure someone more experienced will correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe's he's just an insomniac? Lol. Good luck :)!

Absolutely NO WHERE in the U.K does reptiles, seriously i've looked every where and nothing.

I'm in Lincolnshire (Cleethorpes) and there's one here and one in Grimsby (the next town which is 10 minutes away). Where in the UK are you?

Try good old Google, should be able to find something. We took one of our goldfish to a vet in london (they are classed as an exotic) so there are plenty there.

You took a goldfish to a vet? Now that's dedication. Here they are considered feeders; I bought them by the dozens for my oscar fish. Maybe you're talking about something else or a more unique specimen?

I agree. If I come back in another life as a goldfish I totally want you to be my owner! :D

Nope, was just an ordinary goldfish, i had had 'her' for about 7 years. She lasted another 7 months after the visit. My other goldfish (came from the fair) was 9 1/2 before her first vet visit was warranted. She had a lump which was biopsied, turned out to be cancer and she died shortly afterwards. we spend so much money at the vets (loads of animals) i think we should have a loyalty card! Good thing is, due to growing popularity, a lot of practices now try to have a vet with exotics experience. As we have rats (they are classed as exotics) we have been able to find a good practice, who were really good with my other chameleon (were able to sex her correctly, despite outward appearances).

You could check a few things on him while you are looking for a vet. Open his mouth and see if its clean and pink everywhere; no lesions, holes or green stuff anywhere; pull down his lips and look at the jaw and gum line; listen for noise when he breaths; see if there is anything real obvious in his poop; like worms etc. You may be able to eliminate a few things.
What other symptoms are you seeing?

I think he's fine. I thought he was sleeping but he was looking up. (he was lying on the mesh facing downwards)

My Veiled is doing the same thing. I came home tonight at bout 5 and he was already asleep! With it being winter and all, his/hers body clock is probably slowing down, even more so if the room he is in is dark or he can see outside. But then again, as some people have already mentioned, there might be something wrong. Just check all is well elsewhere on his person and should be fine. Try to block views outside if inside or live lights on in the room he's/she's in. Hope all is well!:D:D:D
