okay so I'm not exactly sure how to measure chameleons, when I got Karma the guy at the pet store said she was 3 inches so I want to see how much she has grown since I have had her! if anybody can explain what is probably super simple to me that'd be super awesome!

I get them to walk on a wooden ruler that's what I do but other people probably have better ways of doing this

Some measure nose to vent, others measure nose to tip of tail. Depends on what your after, body length or overall length. If your cham was 3" when you got him, you have to know how old he was. By my guestimate, you probably got him at 3-5 mo of age. I'm guessing he was 3" from nose to vent.

I use weight. You know without a doubt how your chameleon is doing by tracking weight.

Trying to get a nose to tip of tail is not easy. I once got a very accurate measurement by holding a young male by the tail and photographing him doing his best to escape on top of a quilting cutting mat, which has a grid on it. It was easy to get an accurate measurement using the photograph as a reference and measuring between the points on the cutting mat.
