WOW...

So I was on Facebook, and if you are on my friends list than you seen my status..

Well, one of my "friends" on Facebook that lives in the next town over called Brookings, which is a good 45 minute drive from here posted a picture of a bird that their little brother had found on the street. He has smashed it against a car and broke it's leg and tossed it like a piece of garbage onto the street so that way it can get run over with a vehicle..

I ask you this... WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!? AND WHAT THE HECK HAS ANY ANIMAL DONE TO YOU!? Especially a little bird!?

I would understand if they were upset because it defecated on their shoulder and it got on their skin etc. etc. etc.. but there is no really good answer towards animal abuse!

Here is the picture and what she had posted:

"The baby bird that my brother threw against the car and broke its leg and now they, put it in,the, street so they can run it over"

its sad

but ive seen worse, then most people should know...

they say people who are mentally disturbed or not soound tend to do animal abuse

those with high ego and arrogance of feeling superior that feel they can do whatever they want

and the last one is being emotionally detached and not having any repsect for animals

meaning they havve know grasp or understanding of what they are really doing, they see animals as "things" and not as living creatures

these are a few ideas of why people do it

but it is sad...

OMG, I wish I hadn't read your post, or enlarged the bird picture. People are so sick. I'm sure I'm gonna have nightmares about this tonight.

Thinking out loud, I wonder when "little brother" moves up to larger animals, then to people? I also wonder if he likes to play with fire? Ace is right on the mark -- stable people don't do these kinds of things. When kids do it, it doesn't bode well for when they get older, as the behaviour usually escalates. A mental evaluation should be in order. JMO

Wow. These are reasons i like the term "i hate people" dont take it literally but think about it. What other species just hurts things for shits and giggles. Tortures innocent animals or other people. People are effed. It upsets me.

Sigh...I have rescued and successfully released 4 fledgling native baby birds this season...seeing that just makes me sad. Poor baby.....I gave up a long time ago trying to figure humans out...it just fries my mind. :(

Karma is a b*tch thats the only thing I can say.....

Well

If I saw some f'er do that I'd Probably do the same to him. Some people are f'ed up in the head and they usually get what's coming to them

I hope you can settle your mind. At least it will be out of it's missery.

I said that to her actually.. She said it was un-called for.. I told her the same about the kid trying to kill a bird.

Very sad...and yea id probably hit someone if I saw this happening...

But since were talking about Baby birds, this reminds me of when I was in the 2nd grade and tried to rescue a baby bird.

We actually were doing well and it was eating a formula we had bought and all for a few days.

But one day, when I was walking around with it I saw another bigger bird perched on the fence. So I decided to put mine down on the grass to see them interact. Well, to my suprise the big black bird swooped down really fast and attacked the bird. I had no clue this would happen, and I rushed over to my baby bird and scared the other one away.

I took the baby back to my house and put it in my cage, it was still alive and didnt seem injured. But I came back a little later and it had died. I felt horrible...
