So I cant seem to get straight answers from any one so here I am hoping to get a consensus and answers to un answered questions. I bought my male veiled when he was one month old he is now 6 months old
1. cage- he was in a glass enclosure I misted several times a day and used suction cups to hang fake plants and such now I have a huge 4 ft tall metal mesh enclosure which obviously I cant use suction cups so what do I do ? what are safe plants to put inside I have been using fake . also I bought a fogger since this cage is almost 3 feet taller than the other one. what wattage should I use for my uva and uvb bulbs and last my male yes male he has huge casque and spurs digs his substrate? I only put very thin layer but hes been digging for the past 2 months?

2 food- amt? I feed 7-10 lrg crickets and 7-20 mealworms or wax worms before he would inhale his food but now at 6 months old I find left over crickets am I feeding to much , what other insects can he eat?

3 size- before when I got him at 1 month old to about 5 months old he would grow every week very rapidly now I feel his growth has halted?

ok thanks for the advice in advance!
I think if I did it right download a picture of his growth from june to august in my profile.

I also have 48" screen enclosure for my female Panther. Everyone on here has their own way of setting up an enclosure. Myself I got a bunch of branches from outside scrubbed them really good with Dawn dishwashing liquid. Some people will bake them in the oven to disinfect them. Then I arranged the branches in the cage wedging them against the screen and then attached the branches together with Zip ties so that they form a nice sturdy natural looking frame that I can remove for major cleaning if need be. Some people will push thumbtacks through the screen into sticks that span across the cage. For plants I used Shelfelra and Pothos that were reported in organic soil with no fertilizer.

Don't put substrate on the floor of the cage because veiled are known to eat soil and that can cause impaction. Some people will put stones in their plant pots to keep veiled from ingesting soil.

As your Cham ages he will it less food..that's normal. Feed super worms instead of mealworms because they are more nutritious. Offer silkworms, hornworms, supper worms, crickets, roaches, locusts.

UVB bulb should be 5.0
The basking spot should be 90-95 degrees. Basking spot should be 6-8" below the UVA light. Most people use a 60-75 Watt incandescent bulb. Experiment to find out which works best.

I do the same thing that JaxyGirl said except we bought sticks from Menards. We stuck some into the plants at the bottom of the cage and then attached more going up with zip ties and wedging them into the corners of the tank.

I would also get an automatic mister instead of a fogger because the mister will leave water on the leaves that he can drink off of though out the day.
