Hi there guy's i've been surfing around the net in finding some info on some chams and i just wanted to know where i can find a site that gives me info about "The Fischer Chameleon" cause i always was interrested in chams but know i have the time to really go and buy one to care for it and to see it grow. Can you guy's give me some ideas of a good size mesh cage that i can buy or built and if i can put my cham cage indoor or outdoors wich is best?

Thanks in advance

hey there Kecleon! im a newbie to here an i have a fishers its my frist cham im sure someone here will point you to a site.i built my cage from 2x2's an 1/4in hardware mesh the cage is 36x18x24.add lots of vines an potted plants several of mine are in hangeing pots.as for a drip system easy to make a plastic jug some 1/4 tubeing an a 1/4in on/off control valve.i just plan on keeping mine indoors.

Indoors, but you can have them outdoors to get natural heat and UV. www.flchams.com has cages and sometimes on the forum Tyler Stewart has some.

LinkinParkRulez08,
I'm just wondering,i want to buy a humidifier and i know that i have to put it on a timer and i read that i must mist the cage 3 or 4 times a day,so can i put the timer for every 6 hour or so to humidifie the cage?

And the lights should i put them to on the timer? or just leave them on?

Ya, that would work, Don't put the UV light on a timer. Just turn it off its supposed to be on for like 12 hours.

We use a humidifier in our room to raise the humidity up. We also mist with warm water several times a day to adjust humidity in each cage accordingly. There is nothing wrong with using a humidifier directly on a cage (we do so with or deremensis) but some species are scared of it so I've heard. And who would prefer a nice warm misting over a cool humidifier? :) Also if you choose to hook a humidifier directly to a cage, give it some time to dry out in between...you don't want water build-up.

I would actually recommend a timer for lights. If you don't use one and turn them on or off late or early it might mess up the little guys sleeping schedule. Our guys are awake and asleep the exact same time everyday. I think it's good for them to have that routine.

I keep them on the same schedule as my basking lights. What do you do with yours?

Hi there Chrisnlisa,
a question,so when i buy those 2 lights i should put both on a timer? and when i put the timer at what time is it best to put it?

Well real plants are good for a few reasons...they keep humidity up in the cage, stay wet longer when misting so they have a longer opportunity to lick the leaves. and some chameleons like to eat their plants. That being the case make sure they are non toxic. We do use some fake plants for extra cover and those fake bendy vines...but about 80% of the greenery is real. Hope this helps. :) Feel free to pm if you have an other questions.
