I have phoenix worms mealworms and crickets. How much of each would a meal be to an adult jackson chameleon if the worms are 1" and the crickets ae .5" - 1" lond with 1" mealworms ( i always cut the mealworms before serving to help digestion )

First of you should not feed your chameleon mealworms. 2-4 appropriately sized feeders a day, and sometimes every other day, make for a healthy chameleon. Your chameleon should never know when he is going to get food, so switch up when and how often you feed him.

You may want to prick your phoenix worms with a pin so that they can be digested, if you do not they can come out perfectly in-tact and alive the next time your chameleon defecates. Try other feeders like roaches, snails (cb), silkworms, hornworms, moths, etc.

You dont need to cut the mealworms if your chameleon "chews" its food. A pin prick hole from a tooth is sufficient to get them digested. And it IS OKAY to use some mealworms, but these shouldnt make up a big portion of the diet, just a few. Try to give more variety than just phoenix worms, mealworms and crickets. Im suprised an adult chameleon is even interested in little soldier fly maggots (pheonix worms). Consider adding silkworms, butterworms, roaches, terrestrial isopods, etc.

Use roughly 1-3 bugs a day. Many people feed adults every other day, so that would be about 3 bugs every other day. I think of mealworms and small to medium crickets as roughly the same; and a large silkworm or a roach as equivalent to two or three crickets. The size of the bugs will vary, and that's okay. You dont need to be exact in counting.

The best measurement will be the weight and general health/attitude of your chameleon. Is it a decent weight and holding that without much fluctuation. Is it generally active. Does it look good. etc.
