In need of Silkworms

Anyone have any leads on where to buy silkworms. It's seems that Mulberry farms and costal silkworms are out.

Mulberry Farms has a note dated 5/26 saying they have silkworms available, but the item shows "out of stock". You might give them a call or send an email.

I got about 100 a few weeks back, extra small. If bucky will eat them, I'll start breeding them. Availability is too sporadic to rely on ordering them unfortunately.

I'd be happy to send you a small batch for your picky eater if you can't track any down. Shoot me a PM if you strike out with commercial breeders.

I order eggs from Coastal. They are about $18 for 1000 eggs shipped in the mail. It takes a bit of time to grow them up, but they are pretty easy to raise.

I just ordered some from dbd.com
They carry quite a few types of live insects and have awesome customer service. Hope this helps.:D

dbdpet.com has really high prices. How many silkworms do you need? I have a few hundred available. I've got several hundred hornworm eggs too. Let me know.

I'll give them a call. I was only able to feed a few to and yesterday from the cup that I got (all the left over worms are tiny). Have you tried feeding them to Bucky?

Well just break that habitat, Even if it is silks that isnt a good habit, just dont feed him silks he will eat.

not a habitat at all. I have tried hornworms, crickets, roaches, super worms, blue bottle flies( everything is on standby) for 20 days with no luck. Until a few days ago I got my order of silks and as I was putting one in his/her cage, it immediately ate it.

I have offered him several at 1" long. He seems interested, but I haven't yet seen him actually eat one. He can be a shy eater, sometimes, so I try not to hover.

If your girl is taking silks, it's a good sign she's settling in finally, I hope! Edit, I see you have tried superworms, too.

I can't believe she didn't go for the BB flies!!

Same here I just leave the room. Yea she took a super worm the first week she was here and has ignored them ever since.

The past few days I've noticed she's been exploring her cage not sitting in one spot. Her mood changed once she saw the silks, both of her eyes just immediately spotted it and she just went for it. Today was same thing she couldn't wait for me to put the silky down.

Speaking of the devil she just ate a fly.
