Howdy All,
This link was posted on the UVB_Meter_Owners group site months ago by Dr. Baines of "UV Guide UK" fame. I finally had a chance to watch it. It was worth the 1 hour investment. Dr. Holick a pretty entertaining speaker as well as an expert Dr. and researcher. Not only is it about human issues with the vitamin but he also has some slides mentioning the problems with reptiles and D3/UVB!
What it all boils down to is that the vast majority of people don't get enough exposure to sunlight to maintain the proper circulating levels of processed D3 and its byproducts. This leads to a host of potential medical ailments and other various effects. Getting something like 15-30 minutes of afternoon sun exposure to bare arms and legs several times a week (if I remember correctly ) is a great way to bring the levels closer to normal. Supplementing with D3 at around 1000 IU a day is considered to be a good idea too.
