So---Hercules is 2 months old today but her future is uncertain. There are so many things different about this little one.
1. When she hatched, she walked right onto my finger. Weird! Almost all of her siblings ran from the Giant. :) (y)
So- I became instantly attached and decided she would be the one to keep.
Know ---this is a daily struggle to keep her alive (not such a happy story to follow) will continue the story later. But! Would enjoy the guessing, as to her issues, since I am still learning.
Picture is her and her brother born on the same day. She should be shedding within the week, and he has shed twice (once before the picture and yesterday).(y)

More later. :ROFLMAO:(y)

So what do you think is going on? With Saul and now with this little one... Is it the trans morph or genetic issues?

She melts my heart with her adorableness! I hope whatever health issues she has you can pull her through!! Thank you for giving her her best shot💝

Hercules did not eat for the first 3 days, which is kind of normal for babies. I noticed she would walk and move her eyes normal but never had a reaction to me cleaning or feeding. She never looked at the flies or baby crickets (I can be over observant at times to a fault). Day 4 I recorded her interaction with food and me. To my surprise there was no reaction at all, I mean no reaction. She was blind with no other signs. Saul had scales/skin/ not sure with him, but his issues was clearly noticeable.
So for 2 months-including trips (2 weeks) Hercules has traveled with us (easy to do).
Fast forward: 1 week ago she started to react to me moving around. She just reacts without looking at me, so I am thinking it is that 3rd eye thing.
Note: She has never flattened out for the heat and all the others started at day 4. I am really looking forward for her first shed.
Added Sibling pic again: Look at the eyes- Hercules has no pupil. I will have to search Trans chameleons to see if that is part of the morph.
We will see how things turn out. (y)

I would imagine her other senses are heightened and she is reacting to vibrations and even changes in the air currents as you move. She is adorable. If anyone can nurture her to reach adulthood, it is you. 💗

Update:
As mentioned before Hercules was starting to notice my movements but still does not focus on food items (baby crickets, fruitflies and other tiny worms).
She definitely notices me now. ha ha I am SO SO proud of her attitude. :D:D(y)
So, multiple times in the day I will sit and hold her in my hand with a tweezer waiting for the moment she licks up some water and her food.
Yes, it has been a challenge, since my big hands don't have the muscle control anymore (guess that is the aging process).

ALSO! She had her 1st shed. She did struggle a bit but with the handy tweezers she is good to GROW. ha ha (y)

2 months 11 days.

So does she take the insect from you because you touch her nose/lips with it? How does she find the water?
Could it be a vitamin A issue?
Can you post a closer photo of her eye/pupil, etc please?

When she was born, she never looked at anything, but her eyes moved normal. Example: I can wave items Infront of her and she would not react.
I do have videos of all her changes and someday will learn how to download to share.

1. The feeding process is complicated since the first month and a half was semi force feeding. I would use tweezers and pull back her lip which if she opened, I would feed. If she did not open, I would try again a few hours later.
2. Water: I spray her container multiple times thought the day. If she licks the water, I try a fruit-fly or small cricket with tweezer. Usually, she would eat and then I would put more if she continued to eat.

3. Vitamin A issue: I don't think it is since she was born not seeing and now sees movement. All her siblings are growing fine and eyes are good.
SHE was just SPECIAL :D (y) Remember-- these close-ups are with her new behavior of reacting to my movement. She still does not look at food items.

Her eyes have always moved normal, but I don't see the normal gold pupil exterior (forgetting scientific name). Shown in #11 pic 3
Note: Lip discoloration is due to food juices and lack of scales.
Pic 3 is Hercules with Brother to show size differences. He has shed 4 times.

This is ALL new to me but enjoy a challenge. ??? Is this wrong?

UPDATE! Yes--- So excited with her vision changes. I am really blessed to have the extra time to witness all that is happening.
2 nights ago, she followed a large cricket but was more afraid of it than wanting to eat it. Remember, I am just so happy she is able to see something (this is all happening so fast). I actually figured she would never see and was going to be my last Chameleon to own (just that time in life). (y) But things have changed before. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Anyway--- YESTERDAY Hercules used her tongue for the first time (can't wait to share videos-- sad and cute at the same time).
I was able to help with tweezers letting her think she caught it on her own. I am so excited she is capable of shooting her tongue. I will download some pics later to share.
I am still amazed-- did I say AMAZED? WOW! (y)o_Oo_O
Maybe her focus will continue to advance since her tongue was shooting out only 1/2 the distance. BUT! THAT IS GREAT!....
Thanks for all your kind wishes.
So proud of Hercules for eating all her bugs and vits. Maybe Saul was born to help me with feeding babies that can't do it their selves.
Thanks again Chameleon Family

So glad to hear the news!

The tongue may be a little weak in a way since she hasn’t used it before and may need time to be able to shoot it out fully….after all….muscles need to exercise to be strong!

is it possible that you cant see the coloured (iris) part of the eye because the pupil is staying open and not reacting to light?

Anything is possible since I don't know much about translucent and eyes etc.....

Always open to ideas, thanks.
She was the only one born this way. Figured it was a defect and she would have died after a few days. We will see. (y)
