Introducing Gandalf the Green

Well I purchased my first chameleon last Saturday and picked him up on Wednesday so that I could get everything set up and ready and allow him some time to settle in after his first move to the pet store. So far, he's been doing pretty good. We've developed a nice routine of placing a bright green plastic cup with about 20, 3/8" crickets in his enclosure twice a day and so far he's done pretty good about coming to the general vicinity to dig in.

I've decided to go with Gandalf the Green for his name since Gandalf also changes colors from grey to white in the LOTR movies. Yup, I'm a nerd! :D

He's been fairly skittish today but I've held back on the interaction to allow him time to get adjusted.

And his set up

He is very pretty! Are you sure that is a male?? Does he have the little spurs on his back heels on his back feet?

Another LOTR nerd?! Good to know I am not the only open nerd here.

He is super handsome! Though he looks more like a Gandalf the yellow right now.

Haha, anyway congrats! They are lots of fun. And your set up looks fantastic.

He's been out more today and is front and center basking with his back to me. I was able to look and yes, he does have the little tarsal spurs on his back feet.

And thanks Alaskan and Jo. I was pleased with the way the set up turned out. I was able to implement my wire management OCD. :D
