Hi I just recently got rid of my cage an built kiwi an open exhibit. I was wondering if it was safe I have a 80watt power sun uv light and also the two small lights the cage came with. She is a veiled chameleon about a couple months old. I put next to window so he could enjoy the bright morning sunlight. Should I upgrade my lights?

The power sun is a great bulb for a free range, and they have about a 1 year life span. You do need a meter to set them up, as they can put out a lot more uvb than a normal linear florescent setup.

As far as your window setup, you need sun shine and shade. I see no shade.

Also keep in mind with a free range you need to "baby proof" the room. Door needs to be shut at all times. Room furniture setup so the cham is easy to find. Also remove any traps such as open boxes etc.

How do you keep it from getting onto the light cords or sitting on the light domes?
How do you water and feed it?
Where do you live?

Like someone said, everything would need to be “baby” proofed. Electrical cords, etc. I would not recommend this but if your up for it and have the space then go for it. There would need to be lotsss of plants and vines in order for him/ her to get around. What are you doing about the lighting??
