is purified water ok?

i use bottled/ purified water that i give to my chameleon. ive been using it all his life. is that alright, and if not what other water should i use?

summoner, is there anything less.... large scale I could use? I've been using a brita for my water, however I would love to improve whatever I can for my cham.

I'm a student however, and dont really have the space or want to install something so large scale when I am living in a temporary rental apartment

I buy sping and/or distilled water in the gallon jugs. I put it the mister, the fogger, and my hand srap bottle. I wouldnt use any thing eles for my chameleon. He seems to be fine with it.

RO systems aren't that hard to setup actually. They require a couple of hand tools and maybe a drill (depending on the installation). RO systems have one input hose and two output hoses. One output hose goes to the tank where water is stored and the other goes to the drain or hot water line (depending on if the system is 'zero waste' or not).

If you wanted something a bit faster than a Brita filter you could always install a set of carbon filters under the sink to fill up your misting bottle or reservoir. Carbon block filters can remove quite a bit of materials from the water, especially chlorine.

Does anyone use Ionized water. I have a water ionizer and that is what we drink. Is it okay to use on my Chameleon?

You mean "deionized" water? If so, yes. I have an r/o d/i system that I use for everything from saltwater aquaria to herp water. Very soft and acidic, but seems to do well for them.
