Just curious if Jane is gravid. She seems to be a bit lumpy. She is eating okay and doesn't seem grumpy. I have noticed the past few days that she is going to bed early. She used to be out longer at night but lately she goes to bed by 6:30 in the evening.

We have had her about 2 months now. Not sure if the previous owner breed her at all. I know do know he had a male.

She is our first chameleon. I've been researching like crazy. I want to make sure we are looking her after her properly.

I've attached a couple pictures of her as well as her enclosure. she has a bin inside her cage with her which I've been making sure I keep moist.

mine has been looking like that for about 2 months, i talked to a few breeders at the reptile convention. I was told until you physically see little round eggs and able to count them she might just still be developing the eggs,

Just keep a laying bin in there for now, mine seems to still have no interest in the laying bin

She certainly is not displaying the typical colors of a gravid female veiled. My first instinct is to say she is not gravid. However it is always a good idea to have a lay bin in the enclosure for her.

If she is gravid, she will lay her eggs 4-6 weeks after starting to produce them.

She doesn't look as chubby as mine, as I think she is likely gravid. But mine is older than yours as well.

I was in the same boat as you when mine was at about 6 months old. I set up a laying bin for her incase she needed it, and no we didn't have a male at the time. But she seemed to be getting chubbier so I thought she might need to lay. (She never did.. Guess she didnt have anything after all)

Your girl looks pretty young though. Anyway, it is better safe than sorry too. Just set up a laying bin for her incase she needs it. She should use it when she's ready, if she's ready.

Thank you so much for your responses. We figure that Jane is a year old now.

We changed her bin in her bin with a bigger one tonight just in case. Figured better safe than sorry.
