Hello,everyone
I am a reptile enthusiast in China, there are some chams that I have never seen coming to Chinese pet shops recently, this species and the Senegals,is it wild caught? If so,is it easy to get rid of the parasites and how?there is no specific care sheet for these two species,I am kinda worried that they would die soon,as even the sellers don't know how to take good care of them,if they are wild caught,it may get worse, one of the seller tells me that they only need a UVB lighting and they can survive and grow at a very low temperature(55F or so),i think that would be very very stupid.

Senegal chameleons are almost entirely wild caught. They also tend to be very parasite prone and don't do well in captivity. If you're interested in a chameleon you should try to find someone who's breeding them and buy from him.

Hi! I agree with the above, most to all Senegals are wild caught and full of parasites. Here's some info for you that you might find useful :) http://www.chameleonnews.com/08FebFrancis.html

They're not impossible to keep but quite tricky for your first time and vet bills to get rid of those nasty parasites will be expensive!

I want to add that the Cham in the pic looks to be in better health than some of the Senegals I've seen in the forum!

Yeah most likely it will be wild caught. But I know some places in china that are very warm and humid. You might have better luck at keeping them than people here in the US. I would give it a try :)

I know the OP knows this but for the rest of you the specimen in the photo is NOT a Senegal Chameleon but a Flapneck Chameleon (Chamaeleo dilepis) and care is slightly different for both. It's a female by the way.

Yeah that animal is probably wild caught but it doesn't look too bad all things considered.

Good grief I need to learn to read! Thanks trace! Once again you've taught me something new :) I find it hard to tell the difference between Senegal, graceful and flap neck! I ASS U Med it was Senegal, sorry to the op (good info on Senegal though :D)
