I am concerned about my cham because there are some blackish markings on his mouth at the front. Was never like this until today. I do not know what mouthrot looks like so hopefully someone can lend me a hand and let me know if he has it or if its just maby some dirt or something.

It's not mouth rot, but it could be the beginning stages of "nose rub" which is basically a cumulative abrasion. He might be rubbing on some screen or wood?
Has he been restless and trying to get out of his enclosure?

Yes acutally he is always active during the day until about 10:00 pm when i shut the lights off. half the day he sits under his basking light and basks and other half he will be exploring his cage. He is 4 months and i got him 1 week and a day ago so he might just be restless and moving alot because its a new enviroment. The screen i have for him tho is larger screen there crickets can get in and out... maby he is poking his nose through it and it rubbing. I never see him rubbing his head on the screen or wood and i only have 1 plant that has actually bark on it witch is the corn plant. but he usualy never goes on it.

To me it looks like the scales are being damaged from some type of rubbing, pressing, scraping, ect...

At this point there is no immediate health concerns, but if he keeps it up it may get swollen, infected, ect and become a serious issue. I would definately try to address it quickly before you end up with a problem. If you think the holes in the screen are too big and he's sticking his face in there and pressing to get out, you might consider another enclosure.

Can we see pics of the enclosure?

He might just need some time to settle down in his new home...

nose rubbing and such usually a sign there is something he does not like in the cage. Ditto on the request for a pic of enclosure

Hmm. I have exactly what everyone else in there enclosure... same plants most people use and vines.... Heres a pic.

Its a new cage so the plants havent really grown to the dage yet... (pothos mainly) so maby not enough foilage for him... there is 4 plants in there so i dunno... not to many vines but the vines stretch from backing lamp to feeder cup to all the plants and down to bottom... I dunno... I never see him run his head on anything and i watch him quite a bit.

I had problems with my panther rubbing his nose on the cage. I got him last summer and I keep my chams out all summer long as long as it doesnt get extremely hot. I ended up building this HUGE cage for him and he stopped. Then cooler temps started and I couldnt get the cage through the door hahahaha so I made a free range habitat for him when he is in for the winter. No problems since. Make sure he cant see something he wants like feeders or a female.
