Sorry for the plethera of what may seem like basic questions, but we just want to make sure Andrew will be healthy and happy in his new home!

We are just setting up the cage. Is unflavoured dental floss safe to tie up plants?

Thanks

Jason & Jess

I would think so. You can get very small cable ties at Wal-mart in assorted colors. Just grab some green ones. I would make sure the floss is tied very tightly and then all excess line was trimmed down to the knot.

Dental floss that is unflavored and unwaxed should be safe because it's really just nylon string.

Wait for more responses before you use it though, I'm not nearly an expert ;)

waxed, flavored , blue , white , green its all fine. If you can put it in your mouth you can pretty much be sure it will not kill a chameleon.

You can use light gauge wire. I like "florist's wire" that is coated in green.

Hey now, I could put a damaged electrical wire that is shooting sparks into my mouth. ;)

Just use some fishing line, it's stronger and less likely to tear. Good luck!

I use the florist wire also but not inside the cage. Inside i use plastic coated twist ties or zip ties. Im scared the florist wire could cause an eye injury if they caught an eye or foot on it. But its great for attaching vines to the screen. Just make sure all the ends are on the outside of the cage. :D
