ISO: Discoid Roaches Canada

Hi everyone!

I just got approved for importing, rearing (and probably selling) Blaberus discoidalis in Canada-- I'm looking to bring in bulk quantities (up to 10k roaches). Would anyone know where to find them?

Thanks,
Zach
That’s exciting!!! If you have time, I’d love to hear about the red tape you had to cut through, and how the approval process worked.

I will do so, once I get confirmation that I am able to sell openly to those without permits. Here are some pictures, though

Haha, for sure :D

First while is gonna be pricey, though. Especially since there's a limited supply (especially since it's my first time figuring out winter shipments, and I need to set up my own cultures).

The price will certainly drop as more discoids enter the Canadian hobby, though. As weather gets better I will be able to make much larger and safer imports

Hi Guys!

Just had the discoid roaches brought into Canada!

This project took a cumulative 8 months to set up, more paperwork than I can stand (permits on both sides of the border, clearance, border inspections, CFIA authorization at border), and a lot of negotiation with sellers. We WILL be bringing more roaches in and go full force with breeding efforts, so these will eventually drop down in price. Thanks go to Wholesale Roaches and Canadian Specialty Exotics for helping on this project :)

I'm currently using the profits to bring in grasshoppers (e.g. Schistocerca, Melanoplus etc) in less than a month, and start the breeding process for those so they will be commercially available in a few months (I was barely able to get 50 of each species)

You'll note there's also some other roaches in, (although most are breeding to stronger numbers) and I am getting a bunch of new springtails in the next months
