Its Not About the Money You Spend

SO, I figured I would let everyone know that no matter how much I have spent on the chameleons, its the enjoyment you get from them! I have spent WELL over $500 on just this cham and his area, BUT its all for him to be happy. Now just to sped another $100 and get a mistking : /
Will post pictures when I get it all ready!
Here is what I got:
Ambilobe X Tamative male chameleon
18 X 18 X 36 aluminum cage
Umbrella Plant
(2X) large silk plants
(3X) bio vines
UVA/B bulb and light
Crickets of course :D
Pothos plant
and several FREE sticks from outside (which I will wash in bleach water to clean)
ANYWAYS, thought I would share my "investment" with everyone just incase if you fell about about any purchase ;)

I equate Chameleon to a boat or a motorhome. You are never done spending money, and also agree that they are worth every penny!!

You will be glad you spent the money on a mistking.... they are hands down the best mister out there.

I don't even want to think about how much I have spent so far for my little guy. Its definitely close to a grand

All worth it though:D

They are so worth it! I'm all the time buying trees and vines for mine. My house looks like a jungle.

Nice haha. I wish I would be able to setup a free range area but not sure if its possible with my dog. She is the biggest wuss pitbull ever but I think it may trip my cham out?

I have a big dog and it took me a very long time to trust him with the chams. He's older and a really good boy with anything that we bring in the house. Look at this video of how he acts when Luie walks by. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhscOLA0cqc

Haha That is so awesome! I think I now am set on a free range once he gets a little older. My girl would never hurt anything but I thought the chams would be more freaked. I think my dog would have ran away if she saw one walking on the ground like that lol

I love these guys too, I'm always planning how to add another cage in my room and move my furniture around. The fact I persuaded my parents to get me not just one but two chams in the course of a month still amazes me :D I just love my guys and think they are super cool even though my wallet may say something else. I'd like to add three more editions after college :D:D I've rescued over 6 cats, own 3 dogs, have horses, and have had rodents as well; I love all my animals but chameleons are just so intriguing that it's impossible not to want another and another. The good thing (for s.o) is I've no interest in breeding so I should only have as many chams as fingers, including thumbs :D

im scared to think how much ive spent, well over 1000 pound though lol, with all the humidity controls, controls for if it gets too hot for vans, misters, day and night thermo stats with built in timers, lol but end of the day we get the enjoyment of them so surely we should try and make there lives as best as possible

After the first few thousand who counts. lol I quit counting a long time ago. Besides thats what $$ is for speninding and enjoying. You cant take it with you so dont leave any behind. lol;)

Yeah its kind of crazy to think we spend so much money on CRICKETS. Before I got my cham I wouldve thought that would be insane but now.... I just dont think about it lol

it better all be worth it! i have two 4' cages in my room hooked up to mistking, two 20 gallon marty made tanks, one exo-terra tank and two more cages. ive spent a few thousand on everything, and my room feels like the friggen equator with the high humidity. though temperatures are maintained fairly well for the most part in the heat. :(

I'm one of the lucky few that has not spent much on my Chams, both I got for free. I also got their baby cages, plants, light fixures, and a few feeders for free. :D I got one of my screen cages for 20 dollars (great deal), made my own dripper, and shop at Dollar Tree for smooth river rocks, vines, basking bulbs, and organic soil. I did spend a couple of hundred on other supplies but even then part of that money was Christmas money, lol! Doesn't make them worth any less though! Love them to peices. :D

I break my back working for my cash so anything I put towards the chameleons is like therapy for me. And then I have my motorcycle, every gadget Apple makes and sneakers galore. Money may not buy happiness but it sure doesn't make me sad either!

i guess it depends on how ya look at it. i see it like the old sayen "you get what you pay for"an for meits gotta be the best or top line while others are happy with soso.
