It's time to get rid of some pets when:
1) You realize your pets cost more to feed than your kids.
2) You suddenly find yourself saying "it's ok buddy" if your 14 year old dog can't get up on its own, but if grandma can't then it's time for her to go.
3) You look at your pet's housing and see how magnificent it is, then realize your own house looks like shit.
4) Your pet's medical needs are met, but you can't even afford Advil for yourself.
5) You realize that letting a cute kitten sleep on your bed also means it will pounce with its claws out upon anything that moves under the sheets. Toes, legs, hands - and the morning wood.
