Im a soon to be new owner I am feeding and keeping crickets. I have a cricket keeper and I have flukers high calcium dry feed that I sprinkle into the cricket cage along with flukers cricket quencher calcium also those orange cubes with the crickets dont even touch, hah. I also threw in some apple and cucumber today. Im looking to do a blended gutload from a recipe I found on here. Anyway does this sound correct? I kinda just let them eat how much they want and have food always available. Any suggestions or do I get a pat on the back? hah. Thanks in advance guys/girls

I use the Flukers with calcium and the quencher along with other fruits, vegies and greens and I find it works really well..now I'm disagreeing and agreeing with you at the same time..LOL! ;):p:)

There is nothing better than fresh fruit and vegetables! The quenchers have preservatives that I am not too crazy about...I think.

I like to put a dime size piece of quencher in with the kale and other greens. Just in case the crickets get dehydrated. They probably don't need it and it's probably more for my own peace of mind. I order 1,000 crickets at a time and I have hardly any die off at all and my crickets are fat and healthy so I figure I must be doing something right. And my chams are extremely healthy too. I guess to each their own?

LOL!! It is a lot. I've had them for two months so far and they are growing and shedding like crazzy. So they are still going strong. I feed two chams, two bearded dragons, two spotted salamanders and my fish like them too. I probably only have about 3-400 left now so I'll be ordering again soon! I've tried breeding but so far no luck...need to work on it but I think I'm just too lazzy and don't want to deal with it..hahaha :)

Next time around I'm going to get cricket crack. Unfortunately, before I knew that cricket crack existed I already had 6lbs of Flukers which I've had in the fridge for over a year..and I've only used half of it! I only put a small amount of dry in a peanut butter lid. And I also use some a tiny cap full in my new baby Jackson's enclosure to keep the crickets occupied if they're hungry so they're aren't chewing on my little girl

I have three panthers and two leopard geckos, so every week -usually wednesdays- I go to the pet store and get 40-60 crickets, which by the way they are not hard at all to breed. Just a tedious work of cleaning, desinfecting the bins, so I just go to the store and get them...:D

40-60 crickets at a time at pet store prices must add up over time. I live out in the boonies so the closet pet store for me is 45 min away so I just order 1000 online and they only cost 3-4 cents a piece after shipping is added in.

The most I ordered once were 500 and it was waayyy too many, back then I had a Jackson X. and he would eat about 3-4 every other day!...but I see what you are saying...boonies that is a funny word...I think i"ll name somethig that...:)
