Is it possible to palpate for babies for Jacksons? If so what should it feel like?

I would think that in the later stages it maybe possible. Or maybe it would be like my wife and occ I would see a little bulging out when they stretch their legs....LOL

Just curious

It's a lot harder than an egg laying species. The soft bodies of the babies feel like the intestines. And I am always careful not to palpate too hard as not to hurt the babies.

Yes, I agree with Lancecham. In any type of animal you can damage the babies inside by palpating too hard, especially in the earlier stages of development. Ultrasound can be used just like in people to identify heart beats/blood flow, and in the later stages of gestation once bones have calcified radiographs may show the babys' skeletons. In both of these situations you would obviously be risking stress to mom, though.
