Jackson Tongue Problem Urgent Please help!!!

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - New Jackson I got it 2 weeks ago its a male. hes about 4ish months
Handling -handled once every other dayish
Feeding - I feed him 8ish crickets a day but he doesn't eat them all. I gut load them with Total Feed cricket food or something.
Supplements - I use phos free calcium every other feeding and will do reptivite WITH D3 once or twice a month.
Watering - I mist the cage about 3 times a day, put ice cubes on the top a couple times and use a little dripper. I see him drink sometimes.
Fecal Description - It's fecal matter is brown with yellow(before I saw him drink I think he's drinking more now.)

Cage Info:
Cage Type - 18x18x24 exoterra terrarium
Lighting - I use a mini dome halogen 25 watt for heat and a reptisun 10.0 for UV
Temperature - now its 81-84 in the basking spot and 70 in the rest
Humidity - I use reptifogger several times a day and keep humidity between 50 and 80 percent.
Plants - I have a pot with some pothos and schefflera (with organic soil) but they are too small so I have a large fake fichus to fill up the space until they get larger.
Placement - It is in my bedroom no sun shines on it because my curtains are always closed. Its a low to medium traffic area.
Location - I live in Fort Collins Colorado

Current problem: Today when I got home he was in his basking spot it was 84 degrees and his tongue was out of his mouth about 2 inches and on the branch he was sitting on. It kinda drooped and then he just pulled it back in. Now just about 5 minutes since, he seems fine; he's active and just moving around the cage. Is this normal?? I really need to know if this is normal or if I need to take him to a vet. Please help!!!!!

Maybe he's hot? Or maybe he's tasting his branch. My panther licks everything. Just some thoughts...

I have not seen this in a jackson, but after a day out in the sun my panther was a little hot and when I brought him in he was sitting in his tree with his tongue slightly out, maybe 1/2 inch. Hanging out enough to touch the branch does not seem normal. First double check your basking temps and be sure you are using a good thermometer. Next keep an eye on him and if it happens again you may want to schedule a vet visit.
