Jackson's basking

I just noticed yesterday that when my Male Jackson's is basking he sets his whole body on the branch and lays his chin down. He is still awake and looking around and he eats like a horse, but I see the pictures of others basking and the chams seem to be standing up. Is my guy just lazy? His colors seem very dark under the lamp, but he is normally a nice green so he doesn't seem stressed.

Try uping his temp a few deg. If he is dark in his basking point then he is cold and trying to get warmer. My jacksons will sit with there head down from time to time and all is well.

Same here, i sometimes catch him just laying on his bask spot and the only thing he holds himself with is his tail. He will also occasionally turn black under it so i don't think u have anything to worry about

Turning darker in a basking area is perfectly normal - my Jackson's does the same thing, and I honestly don't believe that his temps are too low. What temperature is your basking area, and what temperature is the rest of your cage. I've found my Jackson's seems to be very comfortable when the ambient temps are in the low to mid 70's and the basking area in the mid 80's. With these temperatures, he does not spend an abnormal amount of time basking, but he does bask every day. Anyways, it doesn't sound like you have anything to worry about!

I am glad this is normal. He seems happy enough even though he is sure I am Satan:eek: oh well, I will get to the handling part soon enough!
