Jerusalem Cricket

Those things are scary! I found on of those (or something similar) in my pool once! Almost had a heart attack! They're HUGE!

Sorry I can't help... But I felt I had to comment.

Just googled jerusalem crickets i thought you were talking about cave crickets but they are two entirely different species . I catch cave crickets in my little green house and crawl space at night time chams love them.

Yeah, they're quite freaky. They just look so....sinister? Anyway, when they turn up around here I know big panthers and veileds just love 'em.

They can also be bred! Then you have a clean safe source! They do require more humidity and cooler temperatures than regular crickets however.

My aunt found some in her bed and said they hurt really bad when they bite. I've never been bitten, but... Have you ever been bitten? They look big enough to have a pretty good bite. Should I be afraid of them?

wow....just googles those....good gawd they look like a mix between a lolypop and a evil criket spider!....there very bulbus.

I feed a couple to my Oustelti a long time ago. I would not use them as a regular food source though all their spikes etc.. could cause internal blockage.

I would definitely recommend AGAINST feeding Jerusalem Crickets to you chams. They dont just have a painful bite, they have a SERIOUSLY painful bite. People breed those things and fight them against other insects. They can kill scorpions, small snakes, etc.

Watch this ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHBiWe5dTew )

and you will see very quickly why that is a poor choice in cham food. Stick with things that have less of a chance of inflicting serious damage to their mouths :)

*Note: I do not condone making animals fight to the death, this video was posted to illustrate a point. Do Not Give Them To Chams unless you want to cut their mouths off first (which is just morbid)

Wow, i checked the link out and about a couple more videos that are very similar and bug fights are crazy..... I don't think id want to risk feeding that to a cham.
