my 6 months old veiled chameleon jump out of my hand during the moving process to his outdoor basking cage (i'm doing a major cage cleaning).
he fell about 55 inches to the thick carpet floor.
he land on his side.

he immediately get back and climb.
i see no broken legs and ribs.
everything looks fine.
he's pissed off real bad but he went back to his normal self and bask outside.

nothing change.. his grip is very strong still.
any signs i should watch out for?

any tips are greatly appreciated.

He should be fine. If you dont notice any broken bones and active quick movement and a strong grip he should be fine. A friend of mine put his male veiled in a small ficus tree in the shower and the cham freaked out and fell about 3 ft on the the hard bottom of the bathtub. lol the noise it made when he his i can still heard now. Hes still living today and very healthy.

that is funny because my veiled fell about two feet today.
actually i think he may have jumped.
I dont think it will present a problem. i saw a jackson chameleon fall like 6 feet for a worm once.

My veiled fell about 4 ft or so from my wifes shoulder and landed on the wood floor. I about shit, but he seemed ok, and is fine now.

As Dankmeleon said, they are designed to do this.
As part of their ability to escape predators/survive, they naturally fall or jump from branches. As they are falling they inflate their bodies and exhale on impact. This cushions the fall. Additionally their ribs are designed to collapse on impact absorbing most of the force of the fall.
Most of the time they walk away from this completely unharmed.
This is at least my understanding of what happens I may be over-simplifying but ... you get the idea.
