Just wondering...

Hi all, I'll just start off by saying that I'm new to the chameleon world so my question may seem stupid. I have had my chameleon for about a week now (he's a young Veiled, he was about 6 inches long when I got him.) And I'm having some trouble keeping his humidity up. I've done a lot of reading and everything I've seen says they need to have really high humidity levels and I'm worried I'm not taking good enough care of the little guy. I've been unable to get his level up above about 70 percent and the majority of the time it rides around 50 or 60%. I've been misting him between 3 and 6 times a day with a pressurized spray bottle. If anyone has any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated.

Your standing humidity is fine for a veiled if I'm not mistaken, you really only want to have it above the 50-60% range a few times throughout the day. You can wrap the sides of the cage with a shower curtain or have acrylic cut to size and a fix it on the sides. Live plants help alot to retain moisture in the air too. As well as a misting system so you don't need to hand spray.
