keeping 2 chams together

has anyone kept male and female veilds in the same cage. can you do that? i have herd that is not good to keep 2 in the same cage. i know you should not have 2 males together but i have herd back and forth talk about a male and female together. or what about 2 females?

generally you should not house these animals together unless the female is receptive

In the wild when two chameleons meet up they have the option of moving away from each other...in captivity, in the average sized cage they can not move far enough away from each other. Even if you don't see the signs of stress, they have to be on guard to protect their territory. With veileds, one or both will likely go down hill and eventually die if they are kept together. Irt may take a few months of it may take a year.
