keeping my cham on the balcony

hi guys I'm in mountain during this summer period and I got my veiled cham and his reptibreeze xl viv with me. I've put the viv on my balcony 'cause temps are good here but in the afternoon the weather gets bad and it rains for an hour or so. from 6am to 1pm the viv is fully exposed to the sun but in the afternoon it gets cloudy and the sun it's not directly pointing at the viv anymore.
do I have to use the uvb lamp in the afternoon or my cham is good with the morning sun? another thing I did is to turn on the basking lamp during the afternoon until 7pm. what do you think guys? is this ok or do I need to have the uvb lamp turned on all day? thank you! :)

Your Cham still receives UVB from the sun even while in the shade, albeit less than direct sunlight.

It’s still much better than artificial lighting though. A few hours in direct sun is better than a day on artificial.

I'm more concerned that he can't get out of the sun if the entire cage is in the sun with no shade for him to hide in if he needs it. Make sure he has a cooler spot to retreat to if he starts to overheat.

I agree with both above. What mountain and how high are the temps getting there?

okay thanks guys, yeah my cham during the morning doesn't have a good hiding spot, I will try to create a point with no sun. anyway as I said at 1pm the sun is not direct anymore. temp during the morning under the sun is 30C (86F) , 25-27C during the afternoon, min temps during the night are 13-14C but I know that is good as long as temp is over 10C
