Keeping My Chameleon Warm in The Winter?

Dear young keeper,
The problem is you do not get a good advice here.
The wintertime in the homecountry your Yemen chameleon is having temperatures in the forties at night and only 60s at daytime, so the heater, which the colleagues suggest is an absolutely unnecessary nonsense.
Study the climate of Yemen highlands in the attached graphs and you will easily find out there is no problem at all with your winter temperatures. Ignorant keepers have set absolutely wrong practices in keeping the Yemen chameleons and parott them again and again ignoring the natural cycles of this high altitude and mild climate dwellers!
On contrary, if you keep my advice (which is based on real personal experience from Yemen and 30+ years practice) your chameleon will live much longer than it is the standard of the self-appointed experts, as you can easily and correctly provide him a wintertime WITHOUT basking, when he will slow down his metabolism and relax till the springtime comes and temperatures will step by step raise. He might even stop eating for many weeks, which is absolutely natural and OK, so you will
Save a lot on contrary to the Pessimistic scenarios artificially constructed by the advisors In the discussion above.
Please relax and ask more questions to be safe but ignore the advice above as it is a misleading one.

You could use a portable room heater, they are pretty cheap.
Ehy you give such misleading and wrong advice ignoring the natural cycles? It is not understandable. Heating for what? 50-55F at nightnis exactly ehat yoj shiuld aim fir and NOT put any heaters!!!

I have one actually, but my mother is a major Karen and she's worried about "catching the house on fire" and said she doesn't really want one in my room.
Listen to your mum and do Not use any,
It is NOT necessary,
On contrary it is beneficial to have so low temps!

By all means freeze them and provide a drought as well. Then it can live less then a year like they do in the wild. Come on Petr.... "you do not get a good advice here"

So if the house temps fall even lower which does happen in the United States in the winter and the child keeper can not provide a room heater to up the ambient temps back up to the 50's you think this is ok?

Well... I heard you need a heater if it goes below 60F
Yoj should
Not
Listen to
Ifiots that base their recommendations on nonsense and not facts. it is a BS
Study the climatic charts I provided and base your conclusions in facts and not in fantasies of irresponsible people that dare to distribute harmful advice

Do I advise freezing and drought?! NO!!!! So, do NOT be rude!!! I base my advice on 35 years of oractice when I relroduced mire than 30.000 of this soecies in 17 generations, I oaid the effort ans soent a yeaf in yemen!!!

The advice is CORRECT AND PROVEN.

Yes, nighttime temperatures at 50-55 are jot only totally OK but they are beneficial and DESIRED.

I INSIST
The Yemen chameleonTHRIVE ar much lower temps both in Yemen as well
As in the Floroda winter!
There is NO reason to provide them high temos as yoj suggest. It shortens their lives.

Just because it happens in the “wild” dosent mean that’s it’s ideal. In captivity it’s best to keep temperatures the same year round to reduce stress on the chameleon.

He fights every time he comes into a thread... :banghead:

I fight if I see harmful and wrong advice.
Can yoh lease justify your advice with same solid base as I did?
Blank starments without any backup are wrong andnI eill always fight against wrong advice that harms rhe chameleons.
Yiu can ridicule
Me as yoj want.
Do not hive wrong advice and we will be best friends.

AND AGAIN!!!!! They are young and here to learn. So say his bedroom gets down to 35-40 degrees one night that is acceptable to you for a chameleon. COME ON Petr!!!
And I gotta say l hate how you say they thrive in Florida... Reptiles including iguanas and chameleons were falling out of trees this past January because it was so cold. But this is thriving right?
You do this every single time you come into a thread. Thanks for calling us idiots by the way... Really gives me that desire to learn from you.

Absolutely disagree
It is NOT the beat oractice
It is absokutely wrinv practice

If zou would keep
A bear,
Yoh would also not
Sleep him in the wintertime?

NOT CORRECT

Against logic, against ethics, against nature and against the law (st least in some progressive countries )

If your advice is proven then that's great. But you for one come on a teenager's thread, insult people who are just trying to help, start acting like a know it all jerk and you expect people to WANT to listen to you. I find that hilarious. The fact that you have the audacity to act like you're better than just blows my mind. Thank you for your advice but don't come on someone's thread and call people idiots and tell them not to be rude. You're contradicting yourself and quite frankly you're the one who sounds like an idiot. Thank you, -Summer, the Mississippi girl who would love if you could stop being rude to people. Thanks?

@Jupiter.The.Chameleon So anyways... Start reading through every module in this link. Then explore the other sections of the website. It is very thorough with correct info and it will give you a really good idea of what you need, how you need to do it, and what all is involved. When you have questions let us know. https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-husbandry-program-getting-started-with-chameleons/

Also before you start spending money on stuff double check with us... There are some items that are sold for chameleons that should never be used for them. :)
