Hi there,
I got a 10 pack of those guys for Ripley
Larva_225x202.ashx

anybody knows how to keep them alive? From what I could find, i can't give them to her too often as they are quite fatty. Which means I have to keep them alive for a while. I don't want them to pupate either.
Thanks in advance!

Those look like the beetle grubs find in my yard. I keep mine is dirt and they seem to live for a long time. You could try that.

If they are too fatty why keep them alive? To feed off the beetles? But you don't want them to pupate?

I find these guys in my yard all the time.

They like composting soil and fruit to eat. They will pupate that way though. We dont have them in the US, so I dont know that much about them. I would ask other UK/Europe keepers about it.

I've wanted to try neelix on these for ages but they seem a bit of mystery to most keepers so I haven't done it. Can u let me know if ripley likes them?

Thanks everyone. I will just keep them in soil with an occasional slice of fruit and see how long they survive like that.

Gave Ripley one grub yesterday, she seemed to love it. You have to remove their mandibles before feeding to your cham though, hey are quite big and the grubs are vicious. Wouldn't recommend holding them with your fingers for the same reason.
