Keeping track of feeders and supplements

I know it's important to keep track of what feeders your cham eats and when they have each supplement. For those of you with a really good memory, you may not need to write anything down ? but sadly I'm not included in that group ?

Has anyone found a decent method of keeping track of things, other than the calendar on your phone, like an app to help chart their diet, supplements, growth, ect?

I don't write anything down. Calcium without d3 Tuesday-Friday, Sunday. Saturday multivitamin, calcium with D3 Monday. Hope that is right. Crickets, superworms, roaches, everyday if I have all. All Arcadia supplements now. I may be getting this wrong and too much multivitamin?

Beman has a good writeup on doing arcadia since its a bit non standard.

So your giving multivitamin and D3 every week, so four times a month? Should only be twice a month.

I suffer from CRS (can't remember stuff) and I'm trying (key word being "trying") to get my cham on track. When he eats, I think "I'll remember that", then the CRS kicks in (usually at the vet) and I go "duhhhhh I don't remember what or when he ate last ?"

I have the reminder on my phone for every other Sunday that says "D3" so I've got that much. The rest is all ?

Yeah nope... Your using them wrong... So it is EP-A at all feedings then pick 1 day a week to then rotate week to week between the Cal-mg and the RevitaliseD3 so that these two are given 2 times a month only.

I use my calendar on my computer because I am on it everyday... It is the only way I can remember what I used the prior week. I suffer from I am about to be 40 and my child has sucked my memory capabilities.

I think I remember "about to be 40" ? Wait until you're about to be 50 and your child (in my case children) completely sucked you dry of every last brain cell. Then remembering things is even more of a challenge ?

I guess if some techy wanted to come up with a new app, one for chameleon keepers would be a great one! Letting you input feeder type, amount, supplements, weight (of the cham, not the feeder ?), even when they ?! What a great app that would be!!

sh*t I am having a hard enough time with turning 40 :hilarious:

But an app for chams would be amazing. I chart weight on my calendar as well. But an app would be much easier.

I get it! I don't think turning 40 bothered me too much (but I can't remember ??). Turning 50 though is not feeling so good ?

But yaaaaaaaa! Put a message out to all your friends that might have techy friends. That would be the PERFECT app?

There are a few apps out there that do parts of this. We’ve recently considered working on something similar ourselves as we have extensive development experience outside of raising bugs. Push notification reminders etc.
We’d be happy to incorporate any ideas you have.

oh yes please do this lol. I need an option to input each chameleon as my feeding and supplements differ per cham, weight tracking for each one, input info for vet visits and what was done, hmmmmm

Wait'll you turn sixty-mumble...

I don't have or use a smart phone (We won't go into that again... ) but I keep growth charts & journal in Excel. It shouldn't be too difficult to work up a macro (if that's even necessary).

I suffer from CRS (can't remember stuff)
Yeah... "stuff"... R-I-G-H-T... And my Missus has closed-captioning permanently set to "English for the Can't Hear ****-All. :ROFLMAO:

My husband keeps telling me the same thing because he's got me beat by 10 years. I tell him it's a good thing I keep him young (50 is the new 40 at our house?)

But excel is the best! I did accounting work for years and had spreadsheets with so many tabs and formulas that calculated stuff from one to the next to the next... But you get it. Maybe that's what fried my brain ?

Yeah, STUFF! ? and my husband needs the captions but he'd rather turn up the volume ? I got him wireless head phones so he could watch TV as loud as he wants, especially football. Now that's a gift for everyone ?

This is a really cool idea. What would be good to track? Here’s some ideas. Would like to hear others opinions as well
  1. Feeder type and number eaten
  2. Supplement used/schedule
  3. Weight/length growth
  4. Gutloads used
  5. Temp
  6. Humidity
  7. Light schedules if you vary your photoperiod
