Kinyongia Addition :)

Aw, looks like my little guy. I use a 25W daylight basking bulb, I'm thinking it might be too little as he never really sits under it, just his uvb. What kind of basking bulb do you use?

Sorry just noticed this reply now ...I use a 40 watt spot light at the moment and lower down to 25w in summer.

The wattage is not really the deciding factor, it`s more the temperature gradient achieved so can use a 25W and keep it close or a 40W and keep it further away from basking branch.

Since it is a montage species I keep it between 80 - 85 F not more than that ...it is important that they have at least a temp of 80 as they have the option to thermo regulate should they need...it`s alos important as it helps them digest ...mine bask for a bit and roam the cage and go back again ...he is going to be 2 months in my possession soon and is doing great ...very fast and secretive although he is tolerating hand feeding sometimes

Their noses always crack me up! I wonder if it serves a purpose, do you know? Very cool and congratulations on your new addition!

haha even their eyes are of a different sort ...I think that when looking at them from the front they look like a chameleon clown ...in a good way :)

I have heard that the blades as shaped in a way that when water drips on their head it slides down in beneath the blades right onto their mouth...I dunno if you think about it chameleons have been around for over 80 million years so there should be a reason they have evolved to the way they are ..!

yes, even the panthers rostrals kinda become like a strainer for water if you notice! I was watching this video that someone posted on here and it had two parsons fighting each other for territory on a branch. They were actually locking their rostrals with one another. I wonder if it might have something to do with a defense mechanism with other males?
