I own a west usambara two-horned chameleon. its a male. i was ganna buy a female(next summer maybe) and try to breed but b4 i do i dont wanna get stuck with alot more babies than i can handle. i was wondering if i were to breed in the 1-2 years how does one like ship a chameleon if thier not a big company? im not sure if my local petstore would buy them because thier not one of the species they usually get in stock (veileds and jacksons). like most chameleon owners i would like to exspained my skills with chameleons. so i would like to know how big clutches are with these chameleons. PM me if u have exsperience. or if you have ever shipped chameleons.

thanks guys/girls

I expanded my skills with Chams by getting different species. I think it is more fun to master the varying husbandry requirements of different species (montanes, pygmies, etc.) than wait around for eggs to hatch, fret over tiny little eating machines and try to find deserving homes for your little investments. I like having a varied collection to look at and customize their care to meet their unique needs. Jmo, but I would suggest that rather than breeding.

As far as shipping goes.Check out www.shipyourreptiles.com They will get you the best price on shipping and they sell shipping kits for one or a 100. They have instructional vids as well. Its really no big deal as long as you follow shipping guidlines.Dont know much about those chams . Im sure somebody with exsprence can help you out there.

Hey good to hear that you are interested in breeding your Kinyongia. If the Tanzania export ban lasts it may become hard to find a female. Keep that in mind.

As far as breeding goes that first clutch you can plan on loosing money, The 2nd clutch you will have all the suplies from the first clutch and will most likley break even or posssably make a little to help expand your collection. The rewarding part of breeding is knowing every baby you produce is one less taken from the wild.oh and there so darn cute:D
