Laying Bin Growing Mushrooms...

Help!

I must be doing something wrong because I'm growing mushrooms in my females laying bin...

What am I doing to cause this?

Do I need to toss all of the soil?

Does the bin take direct spray or drips from you misting? I would imagine your bin has no way of draining excess water? I would get rid of it and redo. BTW, how deep is the soil?

Hello melble68!

The bin is away from any drips, and I use a Safety 1st 360° Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier daily for several hours to keep up humidity levels.

The laying bin is a bucket with no draining abilities, and the soil is just over 8-1/2 inches.

Starting from scratch is fine, I assume I need the soil to drain excess water...

Try adding more sand to the mix
