So as many of you remember back in March I took in Lenny who had a severe case of edema and whose general appearance was pretty poor. Well I have been working with this guy and he is steadily improving! Edema is conquered I think finally!! (fingers crossed) here are a couple of pics from my old thread https://www.chameleonforums.com/omg-i-got-him-77902/ what he looked like. Colors still are not the greatest and he will never be Romeo but he is the sweetest cham and I love him! A couple of new pics to see the improvements and a couple of Romeo, green and yellow!! My pics suck but then again so does my camera but you get the general idea! lol!

He looks so much better, Carol! You have done a great job with him. His colors look alot better, as does his overall condition. Wonderful job, so glad you were able to take him in and make him happy and healthy :)

Wow Carol! Lenny is really looking good. I'm so glad that you took him in and gave him such a good home to live out his senior years in. Now Romeo is just as gorgeous as ever. I love that little man. :)

Tell you what though, he looks way better and brighter! He looks really healthy now, and is probably super happy to have ended up with you.

And of course Romeo looks as handsome as always!

Lenny is looking much better carol! I'm glad u got the edema all under control, and for Romeo well he always looks great lol 2 awesome sambavas u have there!!

Can I ask how you've managed to pick his health up like this, I keep a few chams but I've got a male tamatave who is very dull during the day and when he's asleep he gets his colours back, I really carnt see the problem with him

honestly I think it is the Florida Sunshine. Our weather, temps, humidity, fresh air! I have had this guy out everyday for as much as the weather will allow. I feed him gutloaded crickets, hornworms, silkworms and some supers. An occasional moth or dragon fly if I can find them! I have been supplementing very sparingly as it is believed that edema can be caused from over supplementation although the person I got him from really had not been doing it. He is not a great drinker either but I follow him around with a dripper and drip it on his head! I know in the UK and you do not see the sun so much but I think that is key.

Ive had mine outside this past week they all love it but my tamatave is so dull, Ive got a few more things to try out il get him back to the bright colours again soon

I do think some are just not as colorful as others no matter what we do. This is an example of two different Sambavas from two totally different bloodlines. I do not expect him to get too much more colorful although I have only had him 2 1/2 months so we will see. good luck with yours!

Thats what im talking about!! he is looking really good sambava queenl! I think his colors are already improving

thanks!!! He has shown better colors than that but my camera sucks let me tell you and the pictures come out dark sometimes for no reason! I need a new camera. I am just so happy he has lost the man boobs. When I got him he was solid green with a few faint red stripes on his tail. He is coming around. He eats great now and guess what...he is a smart boy cause he really doesn't like supers!!! Sambava Queen....I kinda like that:cool:
