Lighting for Plants

I'm planning on putting all live plants in my Chameleons cage and want to run a light on them to keep them nice and healthy. I was planning on doing a 2 bulb T5 HO light, it would be 24 inch bulbs and 6500k grow bulbs. I was wondering if this light is safe to run on my chameleon? I'm still going to be running an 18inch 5.0 reptisun on the cage as well. The reptisun might put enough UV for the plants (Maybe wont need the T5 Fixture)? Thanks all and any info would be wonderful.

The T5 HO light and the grow bulbs will be okay.

if your going to have 2 different fixtures for 3 bulbs your might as well go with a quad t5 and call it a day.most people use a double t5 one uv one 6500k as i do too. sometimes i question myself if i should have gotten the quad to brighten up the bottom of the cage a bit cause my foilage is pretty dense. but my plants are fairing pretty well with the double

A 2-bulb T5 HO 6500k fixture will work well for plants. Just a single UVB bulb will not work well unless you have plants that can survive in extremely low light. Either fixture will be fine for your chameleon.

If you don't have a fixture yet, check out the following site:

They have great fixtures and they sell them with Arcadia bulbs. Customer service is amazing and prices are good. However, if you already have T5 fixtures you can use ReptiSun or Arcadia HO bulbs with it as well as 6500k bulbs.
